Description
Lanson Extra Age Brut NV (75cl)
Tasting Notes:
To the eye, Extra Age Brut is a vibrant straw yellow with fine bubbles. The first clues, notes of yellow fruit and dried fruit, combine quickly with fragrances of honey, biscuit and sweet spices, developing a powerful and complex aromatic palette.
The mouth is seduced by the meaty attack and the full, rich body with a focus on the fruit. The clear finish ends with the characteristic freshness of Maison Lanson's style.
The intense aromatic palette of Extra Age Brut will marry perfectly with rich, flavourful dishes such as scallops with truffles, spiced lobster gratin, roast capon or thrush with sage.
Grape Variety:
Chardonnay: 40%, Pinot Noir: 60%. The blend of wines is made from the crus or villages of Chouilly, Avize, Oger, Vertus, Verzenay and Bouzy.
Extra Age is aged for a minimum of 5 years.
Background Information:
To revive the tradition of Lanson Champagnes of the 19th and early 20th centuries, Extra Age is a blend of Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs selected only from Grands Crus and Premiers Crus vineyards. In order to maintain a style that combines both complexity and freshness, Lanson combines the outstanding characters of several vintages: 2000, 2002 and 2004.
The harmony and balance of the wine give full expression to the power of the Pinot Noirs from the finest areas of Verzenay and Bouzy. The Chardonnays from the Côte des Blancs: Chouilly, Avize, Oger and Vertus, in all their diversity, add a touch of finesse.
