Lagavulin goes back to the year 1816, it's names comes from the Scots Gaelic "lag a'mhuilin" which means "hollow by the mill". At the time there was two distilleries in the area however in 1937 there was only one. they was taken over by each other. 

Lagavulin is well known for making it's whiskey using a slow blending & distillery process.
