What’s the best way to store wines and champagnes?
To keep wines and champagnes tasting fresh, we’ve got some quick and easy tips on how to store them to preserve their quality!
Firstly, store bottles at the right temperature - ideally at around 13 degrees if you’re wanting to store long term, and between 7 and 18 degrees if you’re serving them shortly.
Try and store bottles horizontally on their side - this helps ensure the cork stays moist and doesn’t leak air inside the bottle.
Next, don’t store wine for too long in the fridge! Fridges are often too cold for wines, and the vibrations can impact the quality of the bottle. They’re fine in the fridge for a few days - but always give them chance to warm up a little before serving.
And finally, avoid sunlight! Constant exposure to sunlight can affect the flavouring - so a dark cupboard is usually the best!
