Chateau Berne is based in the Haut Var area (Northern part of the Var), characterised by a continental climate. The areas cool night times gives a slow & optimal grape ripening. The Rose wines mature late & are well-structured with plenty of body.
The vines are mainly south-facing and sheltered by 1500 acres of forests. The varied soil and climate offers optimal growing conditions for a wide variety of grapes. The grapes are harvested late in the season to obtain fuller-bodied wines. the friendly growing techniques minimise inputs and in particular chemical fertilizers to limit environmental impact
