Description

6 x Laurent-Perrier La Cuvee Brut NV (75cl)

Introduction:

La Cuvee is Laurent-Perrier's new signature champagne, so called as it is crafted using the purest grape juice obtained during the gentle first pressing. Launched in the UK in April 2017, La Cuvee will replace the Brut NV.

La Cuvee defines the House style and serves as an ideal introduction to our wines with its characteristic lightness, freshness and elegance.

A blend of 55%* Chardonnay, double the usual amount in Champagne, gives the wine its unique personality.

Very long ageing in Laurent-Perrier's cellars ensures perfect maturity upon release.

Tasting Notes:

La Cuvee is pale gold with a steady stream of fine bubbles. The nose has delicate aromas of citrus fruits, underpinned by hints of white flowers.

A perfect balance between freshness and finesse, the palate is full-bodied, complex and creamy, displaying great length on the finish.

Winemaking:

La Cuvee's finesse is due to the predominance of Chardonnay (55%*), which is blended with smaller amounts of Pinot Noir (35%*) and Meunier (10%*).

Exact proportions may vary slightly from one cuvee to another. They are shown here as a guideline.

It is a blend of over 100 crus and up to 30% reserve wines to ensure a consistent House style. It is aged in the cellars for a minimum of four years before being released as it reaches perfect maturity.

Wine/Food Pairings:

La Cuvee is ideal as an aperitif, as well as being an excellent match for fine fish dishes, delicate seafood, and white meat and poultry.

Best served between 8°C and 10°C.

Background Information:

Laurent-Perrier has been avant-garde in creating unique and elegant Champagnes for nearly two hundred years making it one of the world's most esteemed Champagne brands, and also the largest family-owned brand.

Champagne Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 but the story is really one of modern renaissance. In 1939 Eugenie Laurent sold the House to the de Nonancourt family and in 1948 Madame de Nonancourt passed control of the House to her son Bernard. Full of energy and ideas, Bernard was unafraid to challenge convention and had a modern vision of a champagne style that was cleaner on the  palate and could be enjoyed any time.

He brought innovation and a pioneering spirit to the House, and so the Laurent-Perrier style of elegance and freshness was born. His legacy lives on through his daughters who manage the House today.
