History:
La Gioiosa is one of Italy's leading Prosecco and still wine producers. Based in Treviso in the heart of 'Prosecco country', La Gioiosa has consistently won awards across the globe and its quality wines are enjoyed my many.
Its name pays tribute to the old definition of the province of Treviso, "Marca gioiosa et amorosa" (Joyous and Amorous March) underlining the sociable lifestyle of its inhabitants
Regional Information:
Prosecco is a typical wine of the Veneto region in North East Italy. The production area extends in the province of Treviso in the DOC area of Prosecco including the hills of morainic origin over the plain with medium textured soils of alluvial origin
Vinification Information:
Grapes are harvested mid September where upon whole grapes are put into the pneumatic press for soft pressing, and the resulting must, after first racking, is put into temperature controlled tanks where it remains until it used for the production of the semi sparkling wine.
At this stage, the wine is put into vessels where fermentation takes place at a 15-16°C. Upon reaching the required alcohol and sugar content fermentation is stopped by refrigeration. The wine is settled and then bottled
