Description
Domaine Chanson Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Feves 2012/2013
Details of production:
A Chanson “monopole” in the very heart of the first Growth vineyards of Beaune. The vineyards cover 3.80 ha and is located on a mid slope with clay and limestone soils. The “Clos des Fèves” was already known in the 14th century under the latin word “Fae”. After a very cold winter and a cold spring, the weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. It became fine again in the second half of August with hot temperatures. The harvest commenced early September under a bright sunshine. The combination of all those climatic factors has engendered a significant drop of the yields but quality is there. Meticulous vinifications have produced wines with very pure aromas and a very fresh structure. Aging in oak casks during 14 months.
Tasting notes:
Bright ruby colour. Delicate floral fragrances mixed with intense aromas of ripe red berries. Complex, deep and subtle. Precise with a finely woven texture. Very pure fruit. Long and elegant aftertaste.
How to serve:
Game (pheasant), poultry and all the classic cheeses (Epoisses, Langres).
