1858 was when Hiram Walker founded the Canadian Club distillery.
Hiram took advantage of the high class grain in Canada, after moving from Michigan as it was becoming rather dry there.
It was first produced as a premium whiskey where it went on to become a Club Whisky as it found popularity.
