Inspired by “Apotheca” a mysterious place where wine was blended and stored in 13th century Europe, the wines of Apothic are truly unique in style and taste.
Apothic’s captivating blends are crafted using only the most distinctive California grapes. From vintage to vintage, the blend of grapes creates a wine with many layers of intense fruit character, magnificent structure and rich flavour with smooth tannins.
Apothic crafts the finest red blends, showcasing the essence of our winemaker’s painstaking work both on the vine and in the cellar. This is all reflected in a collection of unforgettable wines, including Apothic Red and Apothic Dark.
The distinct character and flavour of the component varietals, zinfandel, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, and merlot, guides the blend of each Apothic bottle. The layers of dark red fruits are enhanced with complementary notes.
A principal of not only Californian wine, but international blends, Apothic’s 2015 Winemaker’s Blend Red won gold in the Berlin Wine Trophy as well as accolades from the International Wine Challenge and International Wine and Spirit Competition.
The Wine Advocate Robert Parker gave the 2010 vintage an ‘88’ rating, denoting ‘a very good wine encapsulating degrees of finesse, flavour and character and no noticeable flaws’
Present in every glass of Apothic wine are the delicate layers of the complex combination of micro climates and soil types that interweave in California’s Central Valley where Apothic originates in a carefully selected array of vineyards.
Apothic began in 2010 with a single wine, the Apothic Red, and has been nurtured and built from there. Apothic was chosen as the wine of choice for the US leg of cutting edge band Bastille’s ‘Wild, Wild World Tour’ in 2017.
